Here at Habitat, we understand that these uncertain times can be difficult for everyone. Many are homebound for the upcoming weeks, which leaves a lot of our families facing tough challenges. However, others are making the best of the situation and finding ways to stay positive. We will be sharing updates that our homeowner candidates shared about how their families are staying positive during this time.

Our homeowner candidate, Ebony, has just picked her home lot and is excited for what’s to come! The family has planned fun activities for their time at home. They planned a family basketball game, fishing tournament, and a picnic- where Ebony wants to make her kids their favorite snack, “ants on a log.”

When in the house, they love board games such as Connect 4 and UNO. When she has time for herself, Ebony loves to burn candles and watch Lifetime movies.

She loves to help others whenever she can. “With the kind of work that I do, I have a patient that can no longer walk, and she is unable to ever get her nails done- which she tells me every time. I brought her some nail polish, did her nails for her, and she started to cry and thank me repeatedly. It made me feel really good to do something so simple that meant so much to her.”
