“Habitat for Humanity is not only a program…it is a family within itself.”

Teracina Monroe is a Customer Service Rep for Spectrum Mobile and is on her way to becoming a homeowner with Habitat. She considers herself to be hard-working and likes to get the job done when presented with a challenge. “I also like to expand my mind and always upgrade in life & grow as a person.” At only twenty-years-old, Teracina has already worked so hard to accomplish her goals, and Habitat is very excited to see her navigate her new journey through the homeownership program. We know she is going to do great!

“Drastic” is the word that Teracina uses to describe her current living situation. “I live in an unsafe area and I’m the last house on the street and then it’s the alley. Sometime I hear guns shots and recently someone broke into my neighbors car.”  Getting accepted into the Habitat program was very exciting for Teracina. “My first thoughts were I finally have the opportunity to be in a safer environment & grow as a person while going through the program.”

After moving into her new forever home, Teracina imagines her life will be different because she will have a safe space supported by a family. “Just being in a great environment and learning everything I will learn within the program will shape me into the person I’m supposed to be so that I can reach each and every goal I put my mind to.” She is most looking forward to safety and positive energy in her new home.
