“My house will be blessed and clean.”
Natasha Marion has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Baypointe Nursing Rehab for over a year. She is a mother of 3 children: 22- year- old Alfred, 20- year- old Leondre’, and 16-year-old Angel. Alfred is adventurous, finding interest in playing both indoor and outdoor sports. Leondre’ is more on the artistic side, spending his time making music and listening to music. Angel enjoys listening to podcasts and vlogging. Natasha describes her family as a tight- knit unit. They enjoy quality family time and always stick together.
Natasha, like many others, has faced instability in her previous homes with landlords that uproot her quickly with very little warning. Previous homes have contained difficult living conditions, such as mold and lack of maintenance. “It’s hard to get comfortable because I’m never sure when I will have to leave to find another location.” This has led to years of unpredictable living conditions, preventing her from being able too truly feel comfortable and at home in her previous residences.
When Natasha found out she was accepted into the Habitat program, she was thrilled to finally have a place she could be at peace in and truly call home. She imagines a stress- free life where she can be in control. Natasha expresses she is most looking forward “to customize my home and have more space for myself and my family.” She encourages others to volunteer for Habitat, calling it a “blessing”. If you are interested in volunteering on a build site, in our ReStore, or at one of our events, please check out our Volunteer Page for more information.
“I wanted a home that I could actually call home. So me and my family could finally be at peace.”
