“I am building because there is nothing better than my sweet home.”

Yesenia, a surgical technician, worked towards homeownership so her four boys can have a forever home. “I am a single mother of four sons. I have always worked very hard to give them the best I can, and have time to spend with them. They are the light of my life, and encourage me to keep going every day.”

Her four children, Eddie, Yedian, Marcos, and Marvin, all love to play ball, play with cars, and spend time at the park. Yesenia’s main priority right now is providing a safe and stable place for them to grow up in.

“I was so excited to learn I was accepted into the Habitat program. Finally, I was going to have my own home. I can’t wait to keep learning through the process, and help others build their homes.” Yesenia encourages future homeowners to “never give up. Time passes quickly, and there are always people willing to help you. Habitat for Humanity helps people accomplish their dreams.”

“Having a home is a blessing in itself. With the help of God, my house will be a perfect sanctuary that I can afford and raise my kids in.”
