Hernando County, FL – Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas, West Pasco, and Hernando Counties has hired Whitney Dinu as Executive Director as it expands its service area into Hernando County.
In April of this year, Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties was selected by Habitat for Humanity International to expand its service area into Hernando County. Habitat is dedicated to providing affordable homeownership opportunities to individuals and families in the community and build public-private partnerships throughout Hernando County to further the Habitat mission. The affiliate recently purchased its first lot in the area at 9504 Spring Hill Drive and will break ground in the coming weeks.
As Executive Director, Whitney Dinu will work closely with Habitat’s president and CEO, Mike Sutton, to identify and execute growth opportunities and develop strategic alliances to further the Habitat mission in Hernando County and surrounding areas. The role will serve on Habitat’s leadership team and help provide oversight to the organization.
Whitney Dinu brings over 15 years of experience in marketing, talent acquisition, and community engagement to her role as Executive Director at Habitat. She has an extensive portfolio in relationship building and client solutions, having worked at ServPro, Kforce, and a private equity firm. As a fifth-generation resident of Hernando County, Whitney’s expertise in the area will allow her to make impactful, lasting connections between the County and Habitat.
Whitney Dinu will also work with executive leadership to recruit and create the Hernando Leadership Council. This group will include members of the community who willingly advocate for Habitat for Humanity, spread awareness of the homeownership program, and engage other stakeholders in the mission of Habitat.
