This week, Jason is starting the 6th grade! He is today’s Habitat Back-to-School spotlight!
This middle schooler’s favorite subject is social studies and he loves to learn about history and the President’s. He is from Washington D.C. and his mom often takes him on tours to some historical sites in the area. How fun!
For this upcoming school year, Jason is most excited to see his friends again and play sports, like soccer! He says when he grows up he wants to be a marine.
Jason’s cousin and godmother is Habitat homeowner, Ashley, who says her goal for him is “to be the most successful, respectful young man I know he is and can be. To have fun being a kid still playing with friends and enjoying sports, but also to be safe during these difficult times that we are encountering.” Ashley also tells us why she believes that school is important. “I think it is important for curriculum and children need that interaction with other children. As long as we can do it in a safe and positive way moving forward.” We know that this school year still might look a bit different than your traditional year, but we believe in Jason and all the other middle schoolers who are beginning 6th grade! You can do it!
Having a home where children can grow and flourish is so important for a child’s education and future. With Habitat for Humanity, that is possible. If you or someone you know is interested in applying for the Habitat program, you can check out our Apply Page on our website for more information.
