Our affiliate is making a further commitment and investment advocating for the advancement of affordable homeownership. We will provide monthly advocacy updates to better educate and advocate for housing policies, provide various calls to action to involve supporters in our advocacy efforts, have new opportunities to engage with our organization and continue to be a local, state and national voice for affordable homeownership.

Habitat for Humanity engages in advocacy because it’s essential to expanding the supply and preservation of affordable homes. With 1 in 6 households in Florida spending over half their income on housing—Habitat alone cannot solve the problem.
We are solely focused on affordable homeownership, which we believe is one of the primary mechanisms in breaking the cycle of generational poverty and creating intergenerational wealth. Through advocacy, Habitat seeks to influence policy and promote affordability among the broader housing continuum. Thereby positively impacting the lives of all low to moderate-income earners.
