On September 1st, Habitat launched our Advocacy Ambassador Program with Pinellas County Commissioner Charlie Justice and St. Petersburg City Councilmember Brandi Gabbard providing a video welcoming to attendees. The program’s goal is to promote or support specific policies, leveraging the voices of those who advocate to influence policy and decision-makers. Its aim is to coordinate and amplify voices for the advancement of affordable housing within our community. Program participants will go through a focused training program that will provide an overview of; what is advocacy, the impact of advocacy, how to advocate/be an advocate, social media training, affordable housing policy, and future steps. After successful completion of training, Ambassadors will receive regular advocacy updates with calls to action, participate in quarterly advocacy update/action meetings, have access to unique opportunities, and will have the ability to actively take action to affect the supply of affordable housing in our community.
Trainings will be held on a monthly basis to learn more or get involved please click the link HERE
