“With the world as it is today, there is nothing but joy with all these people from this program coming together to help you out.”
Steven Brown is a commercial cleaner and veteran of the United States Air Force whose dream of becoming a homeowner will soon be a reality. Steven has a passion for transport driving and takes great pride in being a PaPa to his grandkids. Steven is very close with his family and tells us that his family motto is “Family is everything. Hold right to them as they will keep you grounded.”.
High rent and the cost of living have been a major struggle for Steven. “Paying a lot for something you don’t own is becoming unbearable.” Luckily, with Habitat for Humanity, he will be able to live in a home that he can calls his own AND is safe and affordable. When Steven was presented with his certificate of acceptance, he was so overwhelmed with emotion that it brought tears to his eyes.
When asked what Steven is looking forward to most in his new home, he responded with “Freedom and turning a key to something I own”. He believes that applying for the Habitat for Humanity program is one of the best decisions he has ever made. If you or someone you know may be interested in applying for our program, please check out our Apply Page to learn more info on how to get started.
“There is not greater reward of seeing something come together by so many different people.”
