home
ownership
Habitat for Humanity partners with families and individuals in Pinellas, West Pasco, and Hernando Counties who do not qualify for a traditional mortgage. The Habitat Homeownership Program prepares partners to be successful homeowners through a 36-course education curriculum, including topics from budgeting to home maintenance. Upon completing the program, homeowners earn a 0% interest mortgage, opening a new door to a brighter future.
our neighborhoods
One of the reasons the previous owner sold the property to Habitat is because we would not displace the 15 residents on the property, rather build around them. All other developers would have given them notice to vacate. Once these residents move on from their current property, Habitat will take over the land to build another single-family home for a Habitat family in the program.
The property is held within the Pinellas County Community Land Trust with a 99 year leasehold agreement.
future developments
The average annual monthly mortgage payment for townhomes in the development are expected to be around $1,211 per month for a three-bedroom, two-bathroom unit. The pricing is expected to be attainable for households making $44,000, for example. Habitat will be able to offer 30-year, 0% fixed-rate mortgages.
Pelican Place would incorporate coastal contemporary design elements with a coastal color pallet, modern and traditional accents, coastal-style storm shutters, and Florida-friendly landscaping.
The 12-unit design is spread across four separate buildings. Each building would be three stories with ground-floor garages and a utility/storage area. The plan shows two parking spaces allotted per unit to limit on-street parking. This version of the development would front 18th Avenue South, aligning with current zoning.
