“It is a blessing to building my home, while helping someone else build theirs. I’m so excited to be a homeowner!”
Keidra, a LPN at Inspired Living, has worked in the medical field for ten years while raising six children. She is attending Jersey College School of Nursing to earn her RN degree. She now has added the homeowner process to her workload, and will soon have a forever home for her family.
Her oldest, Ladashyanna, loves to spend quality time with her friends and family when she isn’t working. Her younger daughter, Trinitii, loves to play with Barbies, do crafts, and help her mom cook. She has four sons, O’Rayan, Xameirrion, Keondre, and King who all love to play video games together. O’Rayan loves to draw and write songs. Keondre loves to be outside riding his bike. King loves to play with his older siblings and is the jokester of the family. Xameirrion loves to spend time with his family. “We love to spend time as a family, making each other laugh and enjoying each others company.”
The family lives in an overcrowded apartment, with only one working bathroom to share between the seven of them. “I am constantly dealing with landlords that don’t live up tho their jobs. I am paying so much in rent, to just have to fix the problems on my own. We have a huge issue with mold at the moment, that affects the health of my children.”
“When I got the call that I was accepted into the Habitat program, I cried tears of joy and relief. I knew that God had answered my prayers and I wouldn’t have to worry anymore. My family will finally have a forever home, and it will be filled with love and blessings.”
“Having a Habitat home will create stability for my family. It will be a place where we can call home forever. I look forward to seeing my kids playing in the front yard and riding bikes along the sidewalk. I look forward to family gatherings and holidays in my home. I am building because I want a better future for my family.”
