“I am building for my daughter. Habitat for Humanity is a great opportunity for a new beginning.”
Miguel has worked as an Operating Room Technician for 4 years while taking care of his daughter, Mariah. He is now coming to the end of his journey through the Habitat homeownership program and will move into his new home in March.
The family has been living with a family friend for the past 5 years now. “Mariah alternates homes on a weekly basis, so when she is with her mom I sleep in her room, but when she is with me I sleep on the couch. It’s finally time that we get our own place, so that she can grow up seeing what it is like to have a home.”
“When I found out I was accepted into the program, I was nervous but so excited. I am going to be a homeowner. This home will make it easier to raise Mariah in a stable home.”
The family is excited to have a place to call their own, and have a yard to garden and play in. “I am building for my daughter. Habitat for Humanity is a great opportunity for a new beginning.”
