“My daughter and I can have stability and a place to grow.”
Brittany currently works as a Medical Assistant, and has been in the healthcare field for ten years. She is currently attending school full time to become a registered nurse, while also working to support her family.
She has one daughter, Jaliyah, who “is the happiest little girl ever seen.” She loves to sing along with her favorite music, watch Moana, and spend time with her mom. Jaliyah was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, seizures, and a list of other medical conditions when she was just four months old. Despite her challenges, she continues to be a very happy child.
The family’s current house lacks the space they need to live comfortably. Jaliyah uses a medical stroller and a variety of medical equipment that takes up a great deal of space in the house. “This has been the hardest part for us. We have no room.”
“My first thought when I was accepted into the program, is that I can finally build stability for my daughter and her future.”
Brittany is most looking forward to having a place to call home. Not having the struggles of fighting for a parking spot every day, or dealing with a landlord. “I want a forever home for my daughter and I. A place for us to grow. My house will be our safe place.”
I’m so proud of my baby sister! As a single mother, she gives her all to make sure my niece has a full and better quality of life. I honestly don’t know how she does it all! I’m so proud to be her big sister!
Congratulations! So proud of you. You will enjoy your new home.
