Suzanne had always been drawn to Habitat for Humanity, and became a volunteer in 2019 after relocating to Florida. She decided to volunteer because of the sense of community the mission creates along with the ability to positively impact the lives of others.

Her first volunteer experience was at a Habitat “Paint the Block” event presented by Valspar and the Valspar Championship. At the event, volunteers worked together to provide exterior enhancements such as paint and landscaping for eight Tarpon Springs homeowners.

She enjoyed being able to put her leadership skills to use as a project lead and working alongside the homeowner and their family.

“The entire crew was amazing and the homeowner and their children were so pleased with the results. Now that’s a community working and sharing the results together. Our team finished a little early and many went across the street to help the other team with painting and landscaping. What a crew and organization.”
