Rosemary is a mother of three grown children and a proud grandmother of three. She recently retired from her career as a school-based occupational therapist where she worked with children having special needs from ages 5 to 21 years old.
Rosemary began to volunteer with Habitat in November of 2018. She loves working side by side with others and sharing life stories and dreams for the future. Learning new skills and actually improving upon those skills is another bonus that enables her to become an even stronger volunteer and “always, always feeling that my work is important and appreciated.”
“As a parent and grandparent, I know how important it is to provide a safe stable home in which to raise a family. Homeownership has always given me a sense of pride and accomplishment for all my hard work. It was important to me to pass those values on to my growing children. Volunteering for Habitat for Humanity enables me to help other parents do the same in achieving their homeownership goals for their families.”
Her favorite memory from her time volunteering with Habitat was from a landscaping day. “Planting the shrubbery on landscaping day with a mother of five children in front of her soon-to-be life long home. Being able to share in her joy and excitement was an inspirational experience that I will never forget.”
