Here at Habitat, we understand that these uncertain times can be difficult for everyone. As our staff works remotely for the next couple of weeks, we will be sharing how the Habitat team is staying positive during these changing times.
Kirsten, a Site Supervisor Apprentice I, has been keeping up with creative skills during this time. “To stay positive, I’ve been taking time to get back into art and drawing. I drew my first self-portrait over this time to keep my mind busy as well as create something I’ve never done before!”
“I called my grandpa today to say hi! He’s doing pretty well, we talked about how he’s been doing a lot of crosswords. I asked him when I’d be good at crosswords and he said that he wasn’t good at crosswords until he was thirty, so I’m just going to have to wait to be good at them. It made me laugh because he was so set on 30 being the year you obtain the knowledge to complete crosswords.”
We asked our team to share any budget and shopping tips that they stick with that helps them save money. Kirsten said, “Planning your meals out ahead of time so you know exactly what to buy at the grocery store is my biggest tip. If I don’t plan ahead I start grabbing random things I don’t need. By planning ahead I don’t have as many unhealthy snacks, but it saves me money.”
