Sharmane Bailey, the Associate Director for Stoneweg US LLC, is one of the more recent Habitat supporters. This is the first year the company is supporting Habitat after Sharmane met Habitat team members at an event late last year. “I set up a meeting to learn more about getting involved, and now given our experience and what we have learned, we expect to continue to support them for years to come.”

“Through our research on local volunteering opportunities, we came across Habitat for Humanity and thought the company’s mission aligned very well with our own mission and core business. We have a huge admiration and respect for what they do for so many families looking to be homeowners and feel honored to have participated in helping them in furthering their mission.”

The Stoneweg US team participated in a Tellor Estates build day in January, where they worked on wire shelving, baseboards, bathroom hardware, cabinets, countertops, interior doors and trim. “We were completely blown away at how great of an experience volunteering with them was,” said Sharmane.

“We had fantastic instructors who were very thorough and informative about all the different things Habitat for Humanity provides.  Our team was spread across two different “build sites” but we all worked together pitching in and helping each other get the tasks at hand done regardless of which house we were stationed at.  The day turned out to be a wonderful team-building activity for us and we all were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed rolling up our sleeves and getting a little dirty for such an important cause!  A huge THANK YOU to Habitat for Humanity for making our first-ever Philanthropy Day such an amazing success!! Given our experience, we’d definitely recommend volunteering with Habitat for Humanity to anyone looking to get involved in a really great cause!”
