MaintenX International will again partner with Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas & West Pasco to sponsor a forever home for a local family. The national facilities repair and maintenance company will donate $85,000 toward construction costs, and MaintenX team members will donate their time and professional skills to build the house. Future homeowners Michael and Shanel Horton will also work to build their home, and will move in upon completion.

CLEARWATER — EMERGE Community Economic Development Corporation was formed in 2017 by a handful of friends who spent their formative years in St. Petersburg. Brian Taylor, EMERGE’s director, said that in moving back to the area, the group decided to see how they could contribute to the community and “make a real difference.”

Mary White and her son, Aspen, unlocked the front door to their new home on Portola Avenue during an event on the morning of Dec. 10.
